Dr. Christian Mönch

I am a postdoc in probability, working with Lisa Hartung in the Stochastics Group at the University of Mainz. Currently, I hold a temporary position as principal investigator of the DFG-funded project Structure and Dynamics of Directed Scale-free Networks within the Priority Programme 2265 Random Geometric Systems.

My scientific interests are at the intersection of probability, statistical physics, analysis and combinatorics. Before coming to Mainz, I was a postdoc with Frank Aurzada at Technische Universität Darmstadt from 2013 to 2019, interluded by 3 terms as a lecturer in Mathematical Finance at the University of Mannheim in 2017/18. Prior to that I obtained my PhD under the supervision of Peter Mörters at the University of Bath.

I am a member of the DFG-Research Network "Stochastic processes on evolving networks".
